Tara Harris is a Birmingham-based contemporary artist known for her otherworldly landscapes that bridge the gap between memory, nature, and the subconscious. With a background in printmaking, having graduated from Newcastle upon Tyne in 1991, her practice is defined by an intuitive approach where layered acrylics and oil paints create intricate patterns and fluid, atmospheric scenes.
Influenced by the inner harmony of Korean art and the psychological depth of surrealism, Harris uses a limited palette to explore themes of loss, longing, and healing. Since returning to her practice as a response to personal grief, she has gained significant recognition, including international awards from the Arts to Hearts Project and exhibitions at Terrace Galley and Espacio Gallery, London. From her first solo show, Lands Beyond, to her public commissions, Harris’s work invites viewers into a cathartic space where the ephemeral becomes a tangible connection to the past.
